Old Fashioned

Name: Old Fashioned
Ingredients: 2 oz bourbon; 1 sugar cube or 1/4 oz simple syrup; 2 dashes aromatic bitters; 1 splash water (only if using a sugar cube)

One large cube melts slowly, so the last sip tastes close to the first. Stir longer for a softer drink.

Glass: Rocks glass
Garnish: Orange peel

Ingredients

2 oz bourbon
1 sugar cube or 1/4 oz simple syrup
2 dashes aromatic bitters
1 splash water (only if using a sugar cube)

Method

Muddle the sugar cube with the bitters and a splash of water in a rocks glass until it dissolves into a paste.
Add the bourbon and one large ice cube.
Stir slowly for about 20 seconds until the glass feels very cold.
Express an orange peel over the top.
